| Annual General Meeting and Chocolate Evening Saturday 21st March 2009 7.00pm £8/£10 |
| Members, please support your Society by attending the AGM. This will be followed at 7:30 by an evening exploring the history of chocolate, led by Cheryl Brightly. She will explain how chocolate styles have evolved through the ages from the Aztecs to the present day and provide us with plenty of tasting opportunities! We hope to encourage her to supplement our usual buffet with more chocolate savoury and sweet delights, whilst she will also bring plenty of handmade chocolates for sale just prior to Easter. |

| Our own past-chairman Norman De'Ath will lead us through the diversity of styles produced by this classic grape variety, with examples from countries like Chile, New Zealand, the USA, and ending up, of course, at its spiritual home, Burgundy. Followed by a buffet supper. |

| A repeat of a very popular event of a few years back, as we compare sausages from a number of different local butchers washed down with a selection of beers. Comfort food heaven! |

| Middle Eastern Summer Event Saturday 11th July 2009 7.30pm £12/£14 |
| Our usual outdoor summer event, but with a new twist thanks to two members who will be preparing a selection of Middle Eastern dishes (under the tutorage of a native) to go with some light quaffing wines. A relaxed and informal way to enjoy a summer's evening. |
